My Overflowing Desk

My Overflowing Deskย ๐Ÿ‚

Well, you all know I love VINTAGE stuff so my desk is literally overflowing with things I have accumulated one by one. Although my desk often gets quite messy, I do my makeup, read books and use my laptop on my desk. I wanted to have a desk which is flexible depending on my needs rather than a fixed ready-made desk. So I chose table tops, trestles and a drawer unit to adapt to my needs.

The colours of the products I chose were white, light wood, and black which go very well with my warm brown and ivory coloured wall papers without looking boring.

I originally put the white drawers in the middle and rested two table tops supported at both ends so I used one for doing my makeup and one for studying but I realised that the space was inefficiently used so I just took one table top out. Now Iโ€™m using one table top with an armchair next to it and I am loving the way my space is being used properly. One of the good points of this desk is that it can be adjusted according to my needs, just like my bookshelves.

When I do my makeup, I use a very simple mirror which I can easily put on my desk and takes up little space. I also use the vintage look drawers I made to keep my makeup products. I have an antique jewelry box I found in England and I absolutely love it. Also, on top of it, I have another vintage jewelry box which seems to be a prop from Pirates of the Caribbean. I placed dried orange and yellow roses in a brown beer bottle next to the boxes. (I will prepare an introduction of my vintage items on my blog soon!)

Iโ€™m using two lamps, one is my white work lamp and one is my Lighterature which is adorable. I am filled with an immense feeling of wellbeing when I turn on these two lights in the evening because they gives a very cosy and delicate mood to me. I donโ€™t light candles these days because itโ€™s hot but I normally do in autumn and winter.

The chair Iโ€™m using was actually sent by one of the magazine companies I did interview with called โ€œggumigiโ€ and it genuinely looks incredible in my room. It goes very well with my roomโ€™s vibe.

placed a shelf unit and put candles on the top shelf, vintage stuff (obviously) on the second shelf, and my cameras on the third shelf.
